Few tonewood pairings are as timeless as Sitka spruce and solid quilted sapele, and Eastman’s respective thermo-cured and quilted examples of each combine for truly exceptional sonic results. Solid Sitka spruce offers a naturally equalized balance across all frequencies, matched with the roundness and full-bodied delivery of solid sapele to provide a tonal foundation that sounds fantastic onstage and even better in the studio. The E1OMCE-Special’s scalloped X-bracing of spruce on the underside of the top plays quite a significant role as well, projecting with not just greater strength, but also better balance in both low- and top-ends for a sound that can really fill the room without sacrificing tonal character. The Fishman Presys VT preamp system is space-efficient and hinderance-free to the guitar's natural resonance, mounting just inside the soundhole and boasting individual controls for leveling Volume and contouring tone to fit the space at hand. Sweetwater guitarists have long put their trust in the smooth, silent operating electronics of Fishman to turn full acoustic tones into perfectly translated results for amplification and tracking, and the E1OMCE-Special's appointments are no exception!





Phenomenal 14-fret feel





With a body setup for success as well as the E1OMCE-Special, it’s no wonder that Eastman gave it the proper neck and fingerboard treatment to go with. With a neck of mahogany, the E1OMCE-Special extends its well-resonating tonal characteristics all the way up to the headstock, boasting Eastman’s favored Traditional Even “C” neck profile to give it a strain-free and easy-to-control feel. Atop the neck sits a fingerboard of lusciously sustaining ebony wood, radiused to a level 12 inches for incredible smoothness throughout all octaves. In true orchestral fashion, the E1OMCE-Special provides 14 frets to the body, but an added Venetian cutaway permits further access to top tones all the way up to the 20th fret.

Filling the gaps to ensure that the E1OMCE-Special responds well and holds up under the pressures of constant play is a selection of hardware and pro-player appointments that are just as hardworking as its tonewoods. At the headstock, a set of nickel-plated open-gear tuning machines gives the E1OMCE-Special plenty of well-intonated and vintage-inspired sheen. Just below, a real bone nut lets the strings of the E1OMCE-Special snap and respond with all-natural character, as does the pro-resonance bridge and saddle combo of ebony and bone down at the body. To boot, the E1OMCE-Special just looks fantastic! Treated to pearl dot inlays with a lovely clover at the 12th fret, in addition to subtler touches like a herringbone rosette and compact tortoiseshell pickguard, you can always count on the E1OMCE-Special to look the part, no matter where you play.
